Posted July 1, 2005 Again?We’re writing about Vajra Yoga creator Jill Satterfield again (see “Get Outta Town“)? We must really like her system of meditation and yoga asanas. If you can’t wait to go to her retreat in August, accompany her from July 15 to 22 on a journey through your body and into your mind. Satterfield is leading “Embodied Mind” at Karme Choling, a beautiful retreat center in Vermont.

Posted June 1, 2005 What Is Meditate NYC?Meditate NYC is an annual week of special meditation events and open houses at meditation centers around New York City. This year, it kicks off on Sunday the fifth and runs right through the following Sunday evening, the 12th. There are some great events that you should not miss, including the Vajra Yoga class on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Shambhala NY. Vajra Yoga was created by Jill Satterfield. She takes the best of the yoga exercises and of Buddhist mind training techniques and melds them into one mind/body system. See the entire list of events here. |

Posted May 26, 2005 Change Your Mind, TodaySince its founding in 1993, Change Your Mind Day has grown into a worldwide event on the first Saturday in June. Most events involve free meditation instruction, yoga, music and poetry and introduce the general public to Buddhist thought and practice. New York City’s Change Your Mind Day takes place on June 4 from 11:30 to 4:30 PM at the Great Hill in Central Park. Brother Phap Dang, Jon Gibson, Philip Glass, Bhante H. Kondanna, Loch Kelly, Michele Laporte, Rev. Chung Ok Lee, Rev. T.K. Nakagaki, Roshi Enkyo O’Hara, Lama Surya Das, Om Yoga, Jill Satterfield, Soh Daiko, Clark Strand, Traleg Rinpoche will be on stage at various times in the day. Tokokyudojo will also demonstrate “The Way of the Bow.” |
